A RARE CASE REPORT ON MYXOEDEMA COMA

Myxoedema coma is a sporadic life-threatening complication of severe hypothyroidism with high mortality. Altered mental status and hypothermia are the main symptoms myxoedema coma. Apart from that, hypoxia, bradycardia, hypotension, anemia, hyponatremia would be present. Few patients present comatose myxoedema. Presenting may mislead diagnosis this condition. A female patient presented fever, breathlessness, disorientation was admitted. First diagnosed to have electrolyte imbalance treatment started accordingly. The did not show much an improvement, it took day identify presence hypothyroidism. Treating resulted in advance Patients’ previous history informed during admission. It always tough diagnose when patients’ unknown. Hence, still essential mind while treating comatose. This case has been reported alert physicians diagnosing proceed at earliest.
